When Hartley’s of Paris was established, they had little idea how successful our concept of French design flair combined with traditional English craftsmanship would be. They soon gained a reputation on the Continent for their signature flat-woven stair runners and carpets which are both visually striking and durable. Later, Hartley & Tissier was formed to make their concept more accessible to the United Kingdom and the world beyond.
Managing Director, Andrew Suddards Hartley is an archaeologist-adventurer –sometimes TV presenter – and son of family wool spinning business in Australia. His combination of unstoppable drive, inspired French design, and traditional British craftsmanship, has proven a hit with interior designers and discerning clients across Europe.
